Junior 2019-20 Summer Tennis competition - players wanted!
Believe it or not it is time for Parents to register their children to play for the Campbelltown Tennis Club in the 2019-20 Summer Junior Tennis competition.
I have started a recruiting drive to increase the number of Junior Tennis teams playing for the Campbelltown Tennis Club.
The Campbelltown Tennis Club courts are located in Emery Road at Campbelltown.
I would like to hear from Juniors who are aged between 7 and 17 years of age who are ready to play competition or those who have been playing in the Junior competition and would like to move to seek opportunities at another club.
As the Junior Co-ordinator and Club Coach, I organise a free Junior hitting session on Tuesday nights during school terms in addition to the Group and Private Coaching lessons at reasonable prices that are available by arrangement.
Junior 2019-20 Summer Competition – information
The Summer season will commence in mid-October with matches played during school term 4 then there is break over the December & January school holidays.
The Summer season resumes in February 2020 with matches played during term 1 culminating with finals for the top four teams in each division to complete the summer season in March/April.
The format for the Regular yellow Ball competition will probably be the same as last year with Divisions 1 to 5 for the Boys and Divisions 1 to 3 for the Girls to be played on Friday nights starting at 6 pm and all other divisions to be played on Saturday mornings.
The modified Orange and Green ball competitions for the younger beginners are also played on Saturday mornings.
Junior matches are played at the same venue as programmed – mainly within the Eastern suburbs – on Friday nights and Saturday mornings
There probably will be no Split times on Saturday mornings so it is likely that the Regular matches and Green ball matches will start at 8.30 am.
The Orange Ball matches – depending on the number of teams nominated- will probably have matches starting at a number of time slots ie
8.30 am, 9.30 am & 10.30 am as outlined by the match programme.
There won’t be a choice on the starting time.
The teams in the modified competitions – Orange and Green ball - may be Boys and/or Girls in the team but there is a separate competition for Boys and Girls in the other Regular divisions.
The Boys Summer teams will play with four to five players in each match.
It hasn’t been decided yet but is likely that the Girls teams, Green ball teams and Orange ball teams will play with 2 to 3 players in each match.
Last summer 2018-19 Campbelltown entered 1 Junior Orange ball team and during the current Winter 2019 season we have 5 Junior teams ie
2 Boys teams, 2 Greenball teams and 1 Orange ball team
And we also have a Girls Combined Burnside/Campbelltown team
Playing.
I thought I would set my recruiting drive in motion early so that I can organise a list of Campbelltown Junior players for Summer giving me time to nominate our Junior teams by the due date to EDTA/Tennis SA.
I know it is early but could you please register to play Juniors by return email so that you can be added to the list of Campbelltown Junior players for the Summer 2019-20 season.
There are vacancies at all Junior levels so you can forward this email to your family and friends.
